Topic of workshop: Habits are the lifeblood of results. Building better habits is the catalyst to sustainable change, and yet it’s continuously overlooked by many fitness professionals. Regardless of your clients’ goals or circumstances, learn the strategies to empower, guide and maximize your clients’ results with a habits-first approach. From the initial assessment and beyond, discover the science of how we make decisions, how habit change works, the nuts and bolts of motivation and willpower and the most practical, evidence-based strategies we can deploy as coaches to facilitate amazing results in your clients. This workshop is perfect for personal trainers, coaches, physiotherapists and any other medical professional wanting to facilitate positive changes in their clients/patients. Attendees will learn:
– The biological, environmental and psycho-social factors of habits and change.
– The current evidence, trends and perspectives on habit change. What has been shown to be effective and what has not and for whom.
– How to guide clients through a process of habit change that will elicit the best chance for long-term success.

Mike’s Biography: With over 20 years of practical experience as a personal trainer, youth fitness specialist and mindset performance coach, Mike has orchestrated meaningful, individualized solutions to thousands of clients both in Vancouver and around the world.
Mike has gained national and international attention for his philosophies on body composition, youth fitness and matters relating to fitness and nutrition education. He has appeared on TV (CBC and ShawTV), print (Vancouver Sun, IMPACT Magazine) and has over 400 online articles. He has been the guest on a handful of podcasts. Mike is the author of the well-received e-book “Talking Back to Diet Gurus: An Un-revolutionary and Un-Sexy Guide to Fat Loss”
